Safe Walking & Cycling Month Event: Bike Rodeo - 9/27

Highland Park is a small community with a vibrant downtown and Main Street and is proud to be a walkable community offering residents close proximity to downtown shops and services, and both the New Brunswick and Edison train stations. As children and residents head back to school, September is the ideal time to promote Safe Walking and Cycling Month in Highland Park.  The Highland Park Safe Walking and Cycling Committee (SWACC) has been established to review and monitor the implementation of policies affecting travel by foot or by bicycle within the Borough and neighboring communities to improve the safety of our residents and visitors.

Please join us at any of our special September walking and bicycling events. They have been tailored for various age groups and abilities in order to educate our residents and improve public safety for all pedestrians and bicyclists.

  • Wednesday Sept 27, Bike Rodeo, 4pm-6:30pm: Join SWACC, KMM, and RWJ Trauma Center for helmet fitting, rules of th e road, safety tips and other games and information. Meet behind Bartle School in the parking lot.
