The Highland Park First Aid Squad is an independent volunteer organization which provides free emergency care and ambulance service for any patient within the Borough limits. Crutches and walkers are lent free of charge to Borough residents (depending on availability).

Since 1949, the volunteers have been there for the residents of Highland Park. In addition to responding to thousands of calls for medical assistance, the members have provided EMS coverage at various borough and school events. From high school football games and other athletic events, to Park Town Outings, Highland Park street fairs, Fourth of July fireworks displays and parades, ambulance crews have always been on the scene.

In addition to serving the residents of Highland Park, the volunteer members respond to numerous emergencies in surrounding communities. When called, they provide aid services to Edison, Piscataway, Metuchen, New Brunswick, Rutgers University, as well as county facilities such as Donaldson and Johnson Parks.

The squad responds to fire calls with the Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department and, as requested, by the Highland Park Police Department and the Highland Park Emergency Management Team.

If you are interested in joining our team of dedicated men and women who give their time, skills and talents to proudly serve their community, please call 732-985-8960. Ask for the Squad Captain.
