The Board of Health works in close cooperation with the Middlesex County Public Health Department.  Through an interlocal agreement, Middlesex Council Public Health provides a Health Inspector to enforce the sanitary codes of the Borough.  

The Health Inspector inspects food establishments, investigates retail food complaints, overgrown vegetation, insect and rodent control problems, illegal dumping and communicable diseases.

The Board of Health also sponsors an annual Health Fair, blood pressure clinics, flu vaccination clinics and educational programs covering health topics of interest to the public.  Contact Board Secretary Karen Valente for more information at (732) 777-6013.

The Board of Health also works closely with New Brunswick Animal Control.  Through an interlocal agreement, New Brunswick Animal Control provides an Animal Control Officer to respond to complaints involving wild and domestic animals.

The Board provide rabies clinics during the year.  Anyone wishing to license their dog or cat should contact the Borough Clerk/Registrar at (732) 777-6014.
