The Mayor and Borough Council of Highland Park invite residents to the Borough's commemoration of Memorial Day on Monday May 31st, at 12:00 noon. This activity will take place near the Doughboy statue, on the corner of Woodbridge Ave and Raritan Ave.
The Borough's commemoration of Memorial Day is organized by our Community Services department and held in conjunction with the Veterans Alliance of Raritan Valley. There will be brief speeches by elected officials, a ceremonial wreath laying, and the performance of Taps by a bugler. The public is invited to view the observance.
To allow residents and visitors to watch the commemoration safely, the Highland Park Police Department will close Woodbridge Ave between Raritan Ave and South 7th Ave. Additionally, traffic on Rt. 27/Raritan Ave from 5th Ave to North 7th Ave. will be tapered to one lane to increase safety.
