What It is: Glass bottles (clear & colored), jars, plastic containers (#1 PET and #2 HDPE Only), aluminium, tin, steel and bi-metal cans, junk mail, magazines, office & school papers, computer paper, clean food boxes, receipts, catalogs, brown paper bags, nonmetallic wrapping paper, books, telephone books, gift boxes, small pieces of cardboard, newspapers and color inserts.

How it is collected:

• Curbside recycling collection
• All materials may be mixed in  a single container
• Material must not exceed 50 lb. weight limit per container
• Books, magazines and newspapers may be bundled or tied with string and placed alongside container.
• No plastic bags, styrofoam, aerosols, oil or gas containers
• No plastics #3 through #7 (dispose of in regular garbage)
• Materials must be rinsed of all food waste & liquids

What it is: Cardboard boxes

 How it is collected:

• Curbside Recycling collection or drop-off location at DPW flattened
• Bundled & tied with string
• Must be free of any packing staples, paper & styrofoam

The Department of Public Works will continue to have a cardboard drop-off location at

444 Valentine Street. Hours: Monday thru Friday 7:00 am – 2:30 pm

**ANY material delivered to the Public Works building MUST be brought during normal operating hours. Residents leaving items at the door or dropping them in the Borough lot, when the facility is closed, shall be subject to illegal dumping penalties.

What it is: Washing machines, dryers, hot water heaters, stoves, bed frames, refrigerators, window air conditioners, metal shelving, metal cabinets.

How it is collected:

• Materials should be placed at the curb for collection on you regularly scheduled garbage collection day (Materials are recycled)

What it is: Tree limbs, branches and vegetation only.  Does not include stump material, roots or firewood.  Material must not exceed 4' in length or 6' in diameter

How it is collected:

• Materials should be placed at the curb for collection on your regularly scheduled collection day
• Must be securely tied and bundled, 18' diameter maximum

 How it is collected:

• January through October, curbside garbage collection
• November through January, recycled, materials will be accepted in biodegradable bags or garbage cans only

What it is: Computers, fax machines, laptops, monitors, printer/scanners and TV's only.

How it is collected:

• Materials must be brought to the DPW, no curbside collection
• All other corded electric devices are disposed of with bulk trash
• We only accept residentially generated items

What it is: Compact Fluorescent Lamps, tubes and u-shaped bulbs

 How it is collected:

• Materials must be brought to the DPW
• CFL's must be individually bagged
• Tubes must be taped, same size in bundles of 4 or less
• Broken bulbs can be disposed of in regular garbage

What it is: Rechargeable and button cell only. No alkaline batters are accepted.

How it is collected:

• Materials must be brought to the DPW, no curbside collected
• Alkaline batteries can be disposed of in regular garbage
