On August 17, 2021, the Borough of Highland Park passed Ordinance #21-2017, amending the land development regulations to permit Class 5 Retail, Class 6 Delivery and Medical Cannabis Businesses as well as establishing a licensing process for these types of businesses.

On March 15, 2022, the Borough passed Ordinance #22-2044, amending Ordinance #21-2017, clarifying provisions pertaining to medical dispensaries as well as refining the local licensing process.

 

Cannabis businesses that have identified possible locations within Highland Park are advised to contact the Borough's zoning officer to verify that the use is permitted prior to securing a lease or purchasing property. A zoning permit is a requirement of the Borough's license application. 

The Borough established a Request for Applications process to identify qualified cannabis businesses. The solicitation for the first round of applications for Cannabis Class 5 Retailers, Class 6 Delivery Services and Medical Cannabis Dispensaries was issued on Monday, May 9, 2022 and responses are due from qualified cannabis business applicants by Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11 AM in order to be considered for this round of cannabis business licensing in the Borough of Highland Park.
