Highland Park and New Brunswick will be sponsoring a Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27th, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The parade will begin in New Brunswick and proceed up Route 27 (Raritan Avenue) around 11:30 a.m. A ceremony will take place at the Doughboy Monument at the conclusion of the parade.
In the event of inclement weather conditions, the ceremony may be held at the HP Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. Please stay tune to nixle alerts and postings in the event of bad weather conditions.
ROAD CLOSURES
This is a traffic advisory for Memorial Day, which falls on Monday, May 27h.
The parade is scheduled to arrive in Highland Park around 11:30 a.m. Vehicles will be restricted from traveling on Route 27 during the parade. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area of Route 27 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
In order to prepare for the parade, parking will be restricted on Route 27 on May 27th from 6 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade. Please ensure you are not parked on Route 27 or your vehicle may be towed.
